Sunday 25 June - Day 0
Landed in London at Heathrow at 4:45am (BA0016 left Sydney 24th June 14:50 (AET) to arrive Heathrow (London) 05:05 (GMT)) a little earlier than expected. We headed upstairs to grab a shower and breakfast in the lounge before our 8:45am flight to Berlin (BA0982 Departing Heathrow (London) terminal 5 at 08:45 (London time) and arriving Tegel (Berlin) at 11:35 (Berlin time).

Find out the UK is now getting tablets (iPads) out for security because we both get pulled off the line at screening.
A pleasant enough gentleman made me unpack my bags and as we chatted I find out about the All Blacks win again. Yes when in Singapore an older kiwi mentioned the result to his wife😔. So much for hoping to avoid the game till Germany.

Yay, again we land early. It's a grey day in Berlin just like London as you can see from the window as the plane landed.
But I guess the problem with landing early is that no one is around to offload our bags. Stood there for at least 60mins and not one bag from the flight arrived. Midday in Berlin is 8pm Sydney and it's now 33hrs since we climbed into our taxi🚕 in Turramurra. Finally the bags arrive to applause from all waiting.

The taxi to Potsdammer was pretty straight forward but paying by card wasn't. Mandy always seems to have trouble with taxis and card payment in Europe!
We checked in and then wandered to Potsdamer Platz to find a late lunch or afternoon coffee/tea ☕️. We did reasonably well to stay awake to bedtime meaning a good sleep 💤 and we were ready for our new timezone.
