500+ kms today .. just decided to do the big drive to Broken Hill cos we know a girl ! Lots of goats and emus and goats on this road trip! 🐐 Got in late n had early night. Staying at Van park beside the BIGGEST cemetery.. all old and new ! Next day we jumped on bikes. First stop was the artist Pro Hart's gallery .. the dude that used to do his artwork on carpet! Rode through town and out to Bells milk bar .. a 50's inspired cafe with the best spiders ! The sweat was lashing off us today cos so humid. Town is a bit like you're in a time warp cos all the streets are still lined with old miners cottages.. some renovated...No new housing at all and it's still all corrugated walls! Drove out to Broken Hill sculpture park which was a short drive from town in the desert. Arty farty rocks .. just looked like rocks on a hill to me ! Then checked out the miners memorial which listed all the miners who lost their lives and how it happened .. falling rocks was the most popular way to go! Next day we were off to Silverton.. town just out of BH famous for Mad Max n movies n lots of ads! It was like a ghost town.. so wanted a tumbleweed to roll past ! Lunched at Silverton Pub and had Friday drinkies at Muso's (not very musically inclined!) n the Palace. This pub was awesome. Walls and roof were covered in murals. Had dinner in the side bar and then played two up in the main bar for 3 hours .. it was so much fun..the Palace had a spesh license for it .. awesome night
