In Munich for just one day? Here's how I suggest you make the most of it:

Start your day with visits to Schloss Nymphenburg and Munich Residenz.

Time for a pit stop and some lunch at the one of city's famous beer gardens Augustiner Keller... enjoy a large Beer Stein.

If you're into science (or travelling with kids), head to Munich’s Deutsche Museum.

Make it to The Glockenspiel for 5pm for a motorised performance of the famous clock, and then mosey around Marienplatz Square.

Head back to a beer garden, either Schneider Bräuhaus München or Zum Augustiner, where they also serve classic rustic dinners.
