/ Our Trip to Thailand and Laos
Great day in Vang Vieng. We booked a caving and kayaking tour for $120,000 kip each.
To get to the cave we all got in a big tuk tuk then we’re dropped off and had to walked over the suspension bridge then through a cute little village. A village dog escorted us to our destination. We had to get into a truck tube and pull ourselves along a rope with only head light to see. Afterwards the tour company took us to another sight at the river for kayaking. We paddled down river through some rapids. The scenery was very pretty with cows, birds and the massive granite mountains on our right. There was a diving frenzy mid was down the river when a Korean man from another tour group dropped his iPhone.
When we got back to our hotel we showered and then went to the bakery for a late lunch.
Later on we had a delicious dinner at the Happy Mango Lao Restaurant with Allen & Alex, Helen & David, Trish & Rodney.
Plus a few to many cocktails at Gary’s Irish Bar across the road.
A few others in our tour group booked Hotair Balloon tour but they had a crash landing which put me off doing the sunset option. They loved it though and said it was the highlight of their trip and super cheap at $US 95.00
