/ Two Bullocks on a Boat in Eire
Taking our packed lunch, we walked to the beach. Observing the families, we were reminded how little obesity we’ve seen in Ireland. We wonder whether this is because bars often don’t serve food, and there are fewer fast food outlets, or is a different lifestyle?
Sitting admiring the view, we realised the boatyard is opposite the beach. By lucky chance, and zooming in, these photos manage to capture Avalon already being lifted out to be chocked on the hard.
…and were joined by a friend.
Despite loving our Leap (Transport for Ireland) travel cards, we were grateful to Noel for a lift to the airport, especially as he has his children home before they emigrate. Cork airport is quiet and friendly and we were through to the departure lounge in 10 minutes.
Sadly the flight was delayed 45 minutes, and although the Stansted bus dropped us directly at baggage reclaim, bypassing passport control again, it was very late by the time we met Kate and Richard who had stayed up to drive us home. Our thanks and gratitude to them, too!
Not sure we’ll keep this up, but we took time to continue our morning swim routine. The North Sea feels positively balmy.
