Thursday 9th Feb

Can’t believe the Thailand leg is almost over… fairly relaxing but early start. Packed up and at the airport just after 10.30, flight at 12. Arrived into Bangkok (DMK) at 1.30. 20 min can ride to our hotel, Stay BKK, seems nice. Dumped bags and then walked to the nearest Metro station as I wanted to get up to Sukhumvit Road as there is a dive shop there (I needed a few bits for my next dive live-aboard trip in the Philippines- yes, I’ve booked another one!!!)

Got back into our hotel after walking and navigating the metro. Quick shower and then going out to meet an old colleague from my VAA days, one of the PM’s from Boeing. We were due to meet around 6 but traffic is so heavy it took us a while to get to where we were meeting. Lovely to see Andy and catch up over dinner (@Joe Seafood).

Friday 10th Feb

Alarm at 6.30am (wtf!), quick bit of toast and some fruit and then we strap on the back packs and we’re off to the Airport via the Metro and train. This takes just over an hour but we figure easier than trying to use a cab as the roads will be gridlocked for rush hour. Make it to the airport at 8.30 and queue through checkin and passport control, finally sit down with my 2nd decaf of the trip around 10.15, flight in an hour to Manila. So… good bye Thailand 🇹🇭 hello the Philippines 🇵🇭
