Wednesday 22nd February

Flew from Cebu (Mactan / Lapu Lapu) to Busuanga. Busuanga is in the Palawan Municipality (I think!!). It all gets very confusing, it’s amazing that we have managed to get from a to b sometimes because most places have several names.

Anyway, transit to airport was smooth and when we landed in Busuanga and disembarked we were all handed umbrellas, very civilised and totally brilliant! Can you imagine this happening at Bristol or Gatwick!? Hilarious… we were met by a driver and loaded with numerous other couples into a van. We drove for approx 30 mins before arriving into Coron Town. It’s pretty hectic for a small island. We get dropped at out hotel and dump bags, head out for a walk to the other end of the town. It’s ok in places but a bit squalid in other parts. Most people come here as it’s a major launching point to the other islands that make up Palawan.

I’m dumping J here (poor him) for the next 3 days whilst I go off and stay on a liveaboard. I’m really looking forward to the diving but feel really bad to be leaving him in Coron Town, no doubt he’ll make friends!! We’re staying at an ok place tonight and then we move to another hotel (bigger and with a pool etc.) in the morning before I head off on my trip.
