ELEPHANT DAY! although quite hungover, I powered through and went on my elephant sanctuary tour. We started by going to the waterfall and we had to climb so rather unstable bamboo bridges to get there. We then went to the elephants and we had 4 stations - feeding, baby, bathing and grandmother ele
The first station was feeding the elephants the sugar canes we were given. Their trunks are like hoovers and you have to be careful of holding your phone at the same time. The 2nd station was to the see the baby elephant who was only 2 months old, you aren’t allowed to touch her as it can be harmful
This is the grandmother ele who was 73 years old. It is sad because she was rescued from a circus and she still dances due to muscle memory. I didn’t do the bathing as it didn’t sit right with me but others in the group did
Lastly, we went bamboo rafting down the river in the sanctuary where you can see the elephants on your way round. Jo and John were a couple I met on the tour who let me go on their raft with them. It was so funny bcos the man kept pretending to push us off but we didn’t fall in thank god!
Baby ele in the middle :)
After a well earned nap and a FaceTime with mum, I went to the night markets and bought myself some new lighting flash earrings. I had chicken noodles for dinner and met Ellie and Esha. Me and Esha then went out and met Liam who I had met previously in Bangkok. We went out to Lanna Square for drinks
We went to an Irish pub but we thought it would be too far to go to the Wetherspoons too but can’t believe this is here hahah
