HIKE DAY! What an adventure! Got completely out of my comfort zone and signed up to an overnight hike. It was the toughest thing I have ever done. We set off at 2pm and the first part was intense rocky hills, then on to steep steps and then rock climbing to the top.
Me and Jake fell behind the rest of the group. He could have carried on but I needed to stop every 5 mins and he patiently waited. This was his vision for the majority of the hike 😂. Never been so out of breath and hot in my life. I thought the half marathon was tough
We fell so far behind we thought we had gone the wrong way and lost everyone. We decided we would set up camp if we couldn’t find people by sunset, talking about all our survival skills. We finally came across a random man carrying a knife who was cutting some bamboo who gestured to us to keep going
At last we found the top and the rest of the group. We also weren’t the last ones so god knows what happened to the ones we thought we fell behind. The views were so worth it and I’m so glad I didn’t give up or turn around (there were a lot of moments and almost tears) but we made it!!
we chose our tent for the night and we picked one where we could see the sunrise. We had fried rice for dinner and watched the sunset with the group before putting together a fire and drinking whisky round the fire with a Dutch guy. It was so peaceful, despite how grim I felt from the mud and dust
The picture before he got told off for getting in with his shoes on
🌌 starry night. So beautiful. We could also see it through the window in our tent, so peaceful and relaxing. Fell asleep in the tent before thinking a bear was outside the tent and waking up with cramp from all the hiking. We woke up at 6am for the sunset
