Muang Ngoi

Laos, 26. January 2025
Although I’m fighting a cough and cold we decided to go on a boat trip on the coldest day in Laos so far. We hopped on a little boat and then set off to a waterfall. My legs couldn’t take much more hiking but we had to hike for an hour to the top
The waterfall was pretty, didn’t want to get more sick from the cold water so sat out going in on this one. Had some lunch here and then more hiking to the organic farm.
The organic farm was cute and had lots of information about how to be more environmentally friendly. I had a banana coffee milkshake and we chilled here and chatted with the group for about an hour
Visited Muang Nogi, a tiny village about an hour boat ride from Nong Khiaw. We hiked up (yes more hiking) to the caves which is where Laos was bombed back in the silent war. The remains of bombs are still here. It’s so hot in the caves and also tiny, more rock climbing was done
Hiked up further to the viewpoint. The weather wasn’t great yesterday but the views were still worth it. A day off hiking tomorrow is needed
Got the boat back to Nong Khiaw and checked into our tent for the evening. It is a tent which has a river view, didn’t get any pics sadly :(. We got showered and then went out for a pizza, been craving some western food! Had a couple beers before heading back and had an early night, defo needed
