Hopefully a better mood for me today ahah I asked reception to move and they’re putting me in another room. I’ve also asked for bottom bunk because of my leg. The hostel may be good socially but it’s a bit grim.
Going to explore the city today! It’s so weird being back somewhere with cars and more built up as I’ve been used to proper island life for a few weeks! It’s not what I thought it was gonna be though, I knew it was a melting pot of cultures but it’s all very distinct and seperate still. Like there’s Chinese text, Indian words, Indian looking people and Chinese looking people. And it’s SO HUMID. But I like that it’s bot what I expected it makes it more interesting!! Also clocks went forward so I’m now 8 hours ahead of home :)
It smells like incense everywhere. And a white English monk said have a nice trip to me. Interesting!
Did a lot of wandering day. Went to look at all the street art which was cool, Jack would love it, but like Miami! went little India, a clock tower, little Armenia which was pretty and then tried some clothes on as I need trousers. Got the largest size and nothing fitted 😂 so I won’t be able to go in temples any time soon haha. Only one pair fitted and they was way too long. Then stopped for a Guinness and water and went to a mansion
I then checked into my new dorm and met Simon who is French and prefers English to French! Nice guy. We went on the jetty walk and met Alice and John from the UK. John looks like Lauren’s Phil haha we then went to a street market and then played cards at a bar! Was a great vibe. And some others from the hostel joined :) we’re a nice little group, we’ve decided to get bikes out tomorrow and go wandering together!
