Mediterranean Sea

unbekannt
THE Golden Fleece !!!!!
Even once we were on the Argo, Aeites was not far behind us at all. Whilst I was bordering hysteria, Medea seemed strangely calm about the whole ordeal, and did not appear at all flustered by the thought of being caught by her father and his men. I later found out why.

Two hours had passed since we first left Iolcus, and Aietes and his crew were rapidly catching up to us. I considered ringing dad and asking him if I could charter a helicopter to get me out of here, but Medea told me she had it all under control. Her idea of control was not what I had in mind.

She had brought her brother Apsyrthus along with us on the Argo, and what she did next, I will never forget. She killed him. Not only that, but she chopped him up and scattered him into the sea for Aeites to collect. That’s it. I’m out.

I pulled out my phone and rang Dad, leaving him a voicemail saying that I was using his emergency credit card to book a helicopter. It was a tedious one hour wait; I had to be affectionate and loving with Medea so that she wouldn’t suspect that I, and the other Argos, were about to abandon her. When I could hear the faint whirring of the chopper, I got the Argos assembled, ready to grab on to each other and be lifted into the sky.

Relief flooded through me as I was lifted into the air and looked down at Medea, alone on the Argo’s deck. Next time, I’d rather not risk my life for a free Contiki tour.

She screamed out at me, her lungs burning: “(You have) the worst a man can have, pure shamelessness! It was I who killed the serpent guarding the fleece!... I willingly deceived my father, and now you leave???”…. her voice trailed off into a whisper as I rose further through the air. Hopefully this makes the front page of the West Australian.
