Electric storm through the night lit the van with its silent eerie fluorescence. Waking up to panic as everyone rushed to take in awnings and chairs....then the rains came down sudden and fierce. Sheet lightning exploding across the sky followed by violent claps of thunder dramatic and so welcome after the suffocating heat of the past week.
Driving to Venice the rain eased but the thunder rumbled on in the distance as we set up camp at Fusina with a pitch overlooking Venice. That is until a French couple decided to park right in front of us obscuring the view.
