Day 29 - 23/2/18 - travelling from Luang Prabang to Nong Khiaw, Northern Laos

A thunder storm overnight, which I completely slept though but left some of my yoga gear outside drying, doh!

Another chaotic breakfast and then caught a tuktuk to the bus station and caught our bus to Nong Khiaw - four hours on the Bangla bus - music blaring, thank god I had my noise cancelling headphones (thanks Louise E, I owe you big time!). Stunning views but boy do the roads need work and guess where we had to sit - yup right at the back...

Looking forward to arriving at our next destination and have splurged a bit and we’re staying at Mandala Om Resort where they also run yoga retreats, sadly dates didn’t work for us (think J is relieved). We can only stay tonight, then we have to go up river to Muang Ngoi on Sat night sadly but we can stay at Mandala again on Sun, we have all day Sun and Mon morning before heading back to LP where we fly to Hanoi

Arrived at our hotel, gorgeous... 2nd best of our trip so far. Check out Mandala Om Resort, it has its own yoga shala but lots of space to practice on the balcony too..

Had some lunch at the hotel and then headed out on bikes to visit some caves which were enormous... there are others just the other side of Nong Khiaw that we also want to visit...

Day 30 - 24/2/18 travelling up river to Muang Ngoi

Woke up very early and updated travel blog and then did some yoga on our balcony (Cant use the yoga shala until Sunday as a group are using it exclusively at the moment). Gorgeous breakfast, all my fav things; fruit, nuts, yoghurt AND peppermint tea! We then packed our small rucksacks and headed to the boat for Muang Ngoi - it was a chaotic experience, meant to leave at 10.30 but left around 11.10 - the boat is tiny and glad we’re only on it for an hour or so... scenery is breathtaking though.

Mandala Eco Lodge, superb!
