Our 3 days in Vancouver were enjoyable & interesting as always - we feel so grateful to have been able to visit this beautiful city several times. The weather was cold & raining on 2 days but that didn't stop us from walking around the city with an umbrella. We did spend quite a bit of time in two museums - the Roedde House, a lovely piece of old Vancouver, beautifully preserved & the Museum of Anthropology with it's native Inuit arts & crafts.
Our sunny day was spent at Capilano Suspension Bridge which we last visited in 1997 with our little children. It has expanded to include a cliff edge walk & tree top wooden pathway which we explored, taking lots of deep breaths of the clean air & lots of photos of the giant trees.
A very special evening followed going to dinner with our friend Brian who was an exchange teacher at a Monash Primary when James was in year 5. He originally gave us lots of information for our trip to Canada in 1997 & has stayed friends, sharing time with us each time we've visited. It was such a pleasure to see him again. Despite the rain, called "liquid sunshine" by locals .....Vancouver is a lovely city. There are large trees, gardens, spring flowers & right now many cherry blossoms all over the downtown area. The high rise towers of apartments are shiny & new but there are also some pockets of the original old city that have been preserved. An expensive place to live but a great place to visit briefly.
