( Overview
/ Sri Lanka 2024 - finally here!
Sunday 25th Feb
We both slept amazingly well given that the room was hotter than hell. Had a really nice breakfast, guacamole, mushrooms, tomatoes and eggs on toast. We then walked down to Coconut beach and watched the early morning surfers. Went back to our hotel and grabbed our bags and headed off to the next stop about 15km away by tuktuk. It was gorgeous, we’re staying at a place (in the middle of nowhere called Pedlars Manor). The photos don’t do it justice.
We book a scooter from midday to take us into Galle so once again
dump our bags and head off to explore… head back with a few supplies and then shower and head out looking for a local restaurant. We find one called Funny Cook Restaurant, set up by a local family who hardly speak much English but we manage to order grilled prawns and veg which is very delicious (mind you they did have to keep popping out on scooters to buy ingredients so it took a little while). They were so lovely and friendly though, you just can’t get cross when they mean so well.
