Early morning start this morning for the second day of the slow boat. Have met some great people on this trip and sad to be leaving them all after Luang :(. We set off at 7am and I had a Yorkshire tea (with no milk) and read my book and had a nap on the back deck before the first stop at the caves
I randomly picked this mug up for my coffee and it says Molly on it. It says happy and luck & also ‘July’ I wonder whether that will be a good month for me?!
We stopped at the caves and climbed 270 steps to the temple at the top. Slightly underwhelming especially when you have just woken up and immediately have to climb up the hills hahaa
The next stop was Happy Village. They produce their own whisky here. Our tour guide Tic gave us a run down of each whisky and how they make it. They use rice to make it! We tried one of each shot and so did Tic so we knew it was safe haha. We walked around the village and everyone is selling scarfs
Final couple of hours with our new friends. We met Sharon & Tony who are from Yorkshire but moved to Canada years ago. Sharon is a prison officer in Canada and got me thinking about my future job prospects. We also met Graham from Scotland and another group of Scottish people
We shared a taxi with Sharon, Anthony & Graham & 2 girls from Norway to our new hostel. We checked in and then went straight back out with them for dinner and drinks. Lisa from Norway joined us too. I had pork basil. We then had a quick walk through the night markets
