Travel day! Leaving Vang Vieng was sad bcos I’m leaving the only pals I have left in the area 😭. Went for breakfast with Jake, the boy loves taking pics of me eating eggs, we have so many egg & molly pictures now 😂. Jake and Max were going tipsy tubin so sat with them until they left

Got picked up at 2.30 and got the train to Vientiane. A lot nicer train than the one from Luang to Vang. Checked into my hostel, it’s very quiet here and the bed is super comfy so that’s a plus. Went out for explore round the capital of Laos

Walked to the night markets and I’ve seen stuff I defo need to buy before Vietnam because it’s gunna be cold there. Walked around for 1 hour trying to find some food, for the capital city there isn’t many🫠

Found this restaurant and thought I’d have some traditional Laos food…

Tried this beaten beef dish, it was very chewy but nice enough

Finally tried the traditional Laab dish. It’s described as a mince meat salad but I’m sure there was so questionable things in it - I looked it up and apparently it has tripe and bile in it 🤢. Can’t say I could taste it but I don’t think I’d have it again

Treated myself to a dessert, haven’t had anything sweet in a while apart from fruit. I ordered 2 scoops and it came in 2 bowls lol. This was the best part of the meal. 3 course meal & 2 beers came to £16 not bad could have been worse. Made my way back to the hostel for a shower and an early night :)
