Started my morning off in Vientiane finding the best coffee I’ve had whilst travelling. Read some of my book and then took a wander round to find something (anything!) to do. For the capital city there is not a lot going on. Everything was shut and all the pavements are dug up

Found a spot for brunch, and it was the most expensive avacado and eggs I’ve had. Wasn’t the best either. Walked down to the river which wasn’t a river and walked along to find somewhere to sit but there was no where 😂. Decided to go back to the hostel and chill

I put a message on the Hostelworld chat to find someone and a girl called Maisie replied. I sat outside my hostel and another girl called Alice asked to join so we sat and chatted for a while. They are really nice. Maisie is from Liverpool & Alice from Devon. We went to the tipsy elephant for sunset

Archie said he was also in Vientiane now so he joined us too. Alice knew some guys from her slow boat who joined and very quickly we formulated a group :). We went out for an Indian together and then to a bar and played cards all night. I learnt 2 new card games

Whilst playing cards, Maisie and I decided to book a bus to pakse tomorrow (south Laos) as there are no buses to Hanoi for ages. Louis’ bus to Hanoi also cancelled so he has booked to pakse and so has Archie. We now have 6 of us booked on to the sleeper bus tomorrow night to Pakse :)

Got into bed, pleased that I’ve found some friends to travel with to the next location. We’ve also all booked the same hostel dorm. 4 of us are trying to get to Vietnam so we will need to figure that out next :)
