/ WHEREVER THE MOOD TAKES US….
Monday 17th February
We have to book a taxi as our bus / limousine booking company have been messing us around so we opt for booking a private car. It picks us up at 7.30am and then we spend the rest of the day travelling, eventually reaching Malacca at around 8pm. J goes to bed and I head out to a tapas restaurant (Salud) that I’ve spotted close by.
Tuesday 18th February
Unfortunately J stays in bed so after breakfasting alone I head out to sort out laundry and to explore Malacca. It’s pretty hot and humid, slightly overcast. I spend a good deal of time walking, taking photos and occasionally popping back to bring J things like coconut water, toast etc. I manage to rack up 13.5km walking about. Head back to the hotel late afternoon for a yoga session before heading out to a restaurant for food, I decide that beef broth and rice is probably the best thing for J. We eventually find a restaurant called Tumis that has just the thing on the menu. The service was terrible but the food was good. We share the broth and someone in the restaurant is celebrating their birthday so they kindly send over a piece of cake (it was actually very tasty), I pop over to thank them and wish them a happy birthday. It’s amazing that given that this is a tourist town that everything seems to be closing or is already closed by 8pm. We head back to our hotel and J crashes out again, he’s totally wiped out poor thing. I’m hoping he’ll feel better tomorrow, fortunately he has been to Malacca before so he’s seen most of it already.
