Die Zeit bevor ich Weihnachten zuhause verbringe, war sehr schön und weihnachtlich. Für mich waren die
ganzen Lichter und Dekorationen in London zu Weihnachten neu und ich fand alles so schön, aber ich konnte
auch verstehen warum mir viele Leute erzählt haben das Weihnachten in Deutschland so viel schöner sein
soll. Man hat schon gemerkt, dass Weihnachtsmärkte nicht in England erfunden worden. Es war schön, aber
nicht so gemütlich und weihnachtlich wie in London. Das besondere in London sind die vielen Straßen und
Gebäude die wirklich toll und aufwändig dekoriert werden. Ich habe mit zwei Freundinnen die vielen Straßen
und geschmückten Häuser gesehen und wir hatten einen schönen Abend! Auch unser Kollegen
Weihnachtsessen im Chukus, was ein Karibisches Restaurant ist mit sehr vielen scharfen Gerichten, war sehr
schön. Mein Favorit war der Jollof Reis. Für meine Kollegen und Leute aus der Gemeinde habe ich
Weihnachtskarten gemalt mit Aquarell. Ich mochte die Weihnachtszeit hier und es war auf Jeden fall
besonders für mich und eine schöne Erinnerung in meinem Auslandsjahr! Ich habe mich aber auch sehr
gefreut, dann Weihnachten zuhause mit meiner Familie zu feiern.

The time before, I spend Christmas at home was very nice!
For me, all the lights and decorations in London at Christmas were new to me and I found everything so beautiful, but I could also understand why many people told me that Christmas is so much nicer in Germany. The Christmas markets were nice, but
not so cozy and lovely. The special thing about London are the many streets and
buildings that are decorated really beautifully. I went with two friends to see the many streets
and decorated houses and we had a great evening! Also our colleagues
Christmas dinner at Chukus, which is a Caribbean restaurant with lots of spicy dishes, was very nice. My favorite was the jollof rice. For my colleagues and people from the community I made
painted Christmas cards with watercolors. I liked the Christmas season here and it was definitely special for me and a nice memory of my year abroad! But I was also very happy to celebrate Christmas at home with my family!
