Van took us to his community’s local market and he knew everyone and got all our ingredients from here. Saw a lady hit a fish on the floor which was an experience and also one fish hopped out the bowl and she threw it straight back in…
Our curry paste for a traditional dish called Fish Amok, which is steamed and cooked in a banana leaf
The finalised fish amok - v good too!
A really good experience and very traditional. We prepared and cooked the food all in Van’s mums front garden surrounded by his family who were helping out with the cleaning as we went along. Wish I had more time here so I could visit his restaurant
