Monaco, 07. September 2018
Monte Carlo Casino
We had another leisurely morning of making our breakfast and getting ready for the day.

Everyone was a little hesitant to head to Monaco after the Cannes debacle yesterday but we stuck to it and we were so glad. Even Matthew Blake.

We took the bus which took about 40 minutes and was the most beautiful bus ride. We passed other French Riviera towns such as Villefranche-sur-Mer and Èze.

Our first stop was Monte Carlo casino and it sure is fancy. I went into the atrium to have a little peak around as we didn’t want to pay €34 a couple for entry. We would already be losing going to the casino without even gambling. Also Nic and Mike were wearing thongs and it has a very strict dress code.

We strolled the streets and found some Grand Prix spots and decided to head to the beach and get some lunch. Our beach was Plage du Larvotto. We knew heading to Monaco it was going to be an expensive adventure so we didn’t blink when a salad was €30. After some tanning and swimming we headed back up the hill to see the port with all the yachts. L-U-X-U-R-Y is an understatement. These yachts looked like cruise-liners. I have never seen so many BMW’s, Porsche’s, Bentley’s, Ferrari’s and Lamborghini’s in one spot. I am not a car enthusiast so I’m sure there were other equally impressive car brands there too. This place is where the billionaires hang out. It was fun seeing how they live.

No surprise that Monaco was the same as France with pet dogs everywhere. It is amazing how accepted it is. Dogs go everywhere and I mean everywhere here. I can’t wait for my new little fur baby now.

We caught the bus back and thankfully had a seat this time. When we got home we showered off the beach and started packing for our next spot.

As it was our last night we thought we would try something a little different and venture out in another direction than our previous dinners. When we were going to the port to catch the bus today, we saw a nice little sushi restaurant so we gave that a go. So fresh and amazing. Everyone was very happy with the decision. After dinner the coffee addicts needed their next fix so we went to a little creperie for Nutella crepes and coffee.

Sad to leave France but looking forward to Spain and seeing Elisa and Huby.
