Makarska

Watch the game
Well it seems we have lost another one, Matt was up all night coughing and spluttering and had quite a high fever. We are sleeping on a fold out couch so it hasn’t helped his back either. The poor soul.

The boys had bought an afl subscription so they could watch the Eagles win over Melbourne. They watched on the iPad in the kitchen. It means next week is going to be tough for Matt to watch the grand final as we flying out to Amsterdam on that day. Wish me luck.

I had a very cruisy morning lazing around while they watched the football game. We had some brekky and Matt rested up at hope and slept while Nic, Mike and I headed to the beach. The weather has been lovely here and so warm. The water thankfully has been great too. The beach in Makarska is different to the other pebble beaches as it’s more a stone beach which makes it harder to walk out into the water. They sell rock shoes everywhere here so thankfully at the apartment there was some smaller shoes which I used. It was heaven being able to walk straight in and out while watching Nicole try to Navigate slowly. I think tomorrow she might use the big ones. We spent a couple hours enjoying the last couple days of sun as we have looked at the weather for Germany, Netherlands and England and they are starting to get cooler.

We went to the supermarket and picked up some rolls and fillings to make our own sandwiches.

Everyone went and snoozed and I read and pottered around. We met up at 6ish so we could all head out and watch the sunset at the look out spots. Makarska is so pretty with its beach and mountains right next to each other. Matt was a super trooper and came out for the evening to get some fresh air and move around.

Everyone was looking for a healthy dinner so we settled on a place we saw previously. The others had salads and I had a pesto pasta. It hit the spots. Mike was the only one to keep the daily gelato tradition going but I had a cup of fritule. It is a Croatian fritter but really it looks like donut holes. They are so fresh and warm and I’m going to miss them.

It was another nice relaxing day and evening. It will be good to rest up and be ready for the next few busy spots. Hopefully the boys recovery quickly. We have decided to skip Krka Falls with the boys being sick and it’s a whole day outing from 7am to 7pm. The buses only run once a day and we haven’t organized a tour. We will try some cliff jumping or a hike.

Doviđenja!
