Day 4 - Pompeii. Our second ride on the bullet train took us to Naples and a side train to Pompeii today. What a great side excursion. While walking the ruins of the ancient city, we saw some of the petrified remains if those who perished in the Vesuvius eruption. We also walked to an ampitheater and Colosseum and entered many homes and the public bathhouse. We have put on a lot of miles these first few days, but have walked back in time over 2,000 years. When returning to Rome, we had a great dinner and returned to the AirBnB with no power. Was it our resident ghost or a power surge? We may never know. Oh well, off to rest to begin the conference tomorrow.
