Valparaíso

Chile, 21. December 2014
The historical city center of Valparaíso - and especially the part on and around two of the various hills - is packed with an uncountable amount of old houses each painted in a different colors. Exploring the hills, amazing views on the bay open up from time to time. Street art is present in every corner, causing the sensation of being in the middle of one large art exhibition. Valparaíso is definitly one of the most beautiful cities in the world and no wonder the UNESCO claimed it a World Heritage Site.

Hostal Cerro Alegre

This nice and clean hostel is located in an old house on Cerro Alegre in the city center. It's beautifully decorated with paintings and sculptures created by the (former?) owner - an artist himself.

House of Pablo Neruda

La Sebastiana is one of the three houses of Pablo Neruda (awarded with the noble prize for literature and one of Chiles most significant writers). Besides being a brilliant writer he also was a passionate collector of beautiful - and sometimes bizarre - things with which he decorated his home; showing some great sense of humor. Every floor offers amazing views on the bay of Valparaiso.
