/ Amazing North India
Arriving in the middle of nowhere, off the main road near a small village called Raipur, along the fields of farmers into a stony, loneliness landscape. After riding 6 hours by car the last 15 minutes crossing through „nothing“, we see a beautiful pink house on the top of a hill. We are right! Lakshman Sagar. An old hunting lodge from the 19th century that is converted in a beautiful nature property.
Our place to relax after 2 weeks of the crowded and packed cities of Rajasthan. Here, the pure nature. No internet and no telephone at the room, no mobile connection. Just the lake, the birds, cows, turtles, fishes and our hut. Ok, the huts are first class comfortable with a private pool, but we are spending the last days of our vacation and we left the budget locations behind us. The cottage is absolutely amazing and it looks like we got the best one! Yes!
In late afternoons dozens of peacocks are flying over the lake. Its getting darker and darker … no lights anywhere but a clear sky full of stars! We can’t believe: we are the only guests! We spend the days doing nothing but admiring this beautiful place on earth. Watching birds like the indian owl and kingfishers.
The food is more than delicious. For breakfast: Just the best jam in whole India and the local paratha was wonderful. All the meals, breakfast, lunch and dinner were highlights of all days. Lakshman Sagar has its own vegetable organic garden and local receipts. Just fantastic.
So, time to let the mind calm down and enjoying the nature around us …
