( Overview
/ Argentina-Uruguay-Chile
30 kilometers long, 5 kilometers wide, 60 meters high. The glacier Perito Moreno is really breathtaking and you can get pretty close to it on the opposing peninsula.
There is a 4 km walk facing the frontside of the glacier providing views from different angles and the possibility to follow the colors changing during the day. From time to time a sound like distant thunder or a gunshot is to be heard - followed by big chunks of ice spectacularly breaking of and falling into the lake. It's an amazing experience!
We stayed the whole day, listening, watching and sharing a Mate or two.
