/ Northern Vietnam Diary
It’s so exciting to travel again after 3 busy months at work. This time I chose BarikAir to fly to Hanoi because they fly to Vietnam everyday at reasonable hour. It’s about 700 RM for round trip. Not bad, humm?!
I saw a guy with flower at departure waiting area. Then, I found this floral shop just outside the Hanoi airport. How cute!
There are shuttle buses from Hanoi international airport to Hanoi city center (Hanoi Station). It costs 45,000 VDN (9 RM) each. The bus route can be found on internet. The bus driver won’t announce the stop. So you have to figure out where to take off.
I found a Highlands coffee shop while I was wandering around the station and decided to have a Vietnamese coffee. Their small cup means really small unlike Malaysia. lol. So go for medium at least. The coffee is very strong which is my taste. I think it was around 25,000 VDN (5 RM).
I stayed at 20 Hotel & Apartment. I paid 150 RM per night. It looks like a shop-block hotel (if in Malaysia), but the hotel is very clean and comfy. The staffs are very nice. One staff took time to explain about tourist attraction places in Hanoi. You can easily book the tours after you arrive.
This is the water puppet theatre. The queue for the ticket is pretty long. It’s better to go early. Alternatively, you can buy the ticket from Klook but you have to take the physical ticket at the tour company which is 500m away.
This is how water puppet show is. It takes about 50 minutes. It’s interesting to figure out how it works. There are three class for the seats depending on the distance from the stage. Mine was in middle which costed 150,000 VDN (30 RM). I recommend it.
Say hi to my travel buddy - Myanmar (Burmese) puppet. His name is Mg Okkar aka Knight. This is the uniform of Burmese ancient soldiers!
Vietnamese music instruments are interesting but this one attracted me the most. There is only one string with something like a tuner.
This is the atmosphere near water puppet theatre. You must walk around and explore there. It seems to be city center. (Sorry for the poor framing of this pic.)
While I was wandering around, I found a cute restaurant which served Vietnamese food and Mexican food.
The shop name is Take Taco.
Address is - P. Cầu Gỗ/65 street 12, street, 24 Nha Tho, Hà Nội 100000, Vietnam
I will show the food in next picture.
Here we go!
Vegetable spring roll and Hanoi beer!
Best combination for first dinner in Vietnam.
Love it!
All costed 133,000 VDN (26 RM) including tax.
