The sunrise beat the sunset, and foretold high winds and rain to come.
A wet morning, and waiting for the tide meant there was time to clean the cockpit.

As we prepared to leave, we discovered we couldn’t lower our keel!
Fortunately leaving the creek, and passing Osea Island we were sailing down wind, so having the keel raised was perfect.

Initially thinking it might be an electrical problem with the keel, a few times manually raising and lowering it sorted the problem; it seems grit and gravel had jammed it up. Phew! Not feeling so smug about going aground!
The red sky this morning really was a warning. We decided not to go ashore as it poured with rain, and the wind speed increased during the evening.
Instead we watched Raducanu’s victory over Sakkari at Wimbledon.
