Slept really well despite still feeling rubbish (but I put that down to a sleeping tablet). J woke me up just in time for breakfast, after breakfast went back to bed as we had managed to ask for a late checkout. We weren’t due to fly out of KL to Kuala Terengganu until 5.30pm. We caught a Grab car (same as Uber) to the domestic airport, only 30 mins away. Checked in and made our way to the lounge, definitely not the same kind of lounge as the UK. Fortunately J realised that the hotel I’d booked tonight was in the wrong place (Marang instead of Merang), being about an hour away from where we needed to be. We hastily rebooked somewhere for tonight. Caught another taxi to the place were overnighting. It’s raining buckets here… we arrived and dumped our bags and headed across the road to get some food. No one spoke any English so we just pointed at the menu and hoped for the best. Ended up with a Nasi Gorang (rice dish of some kind), it was pretty tasty but the service was a bit odd, not overly friendly or customer focused but hey ho, that’s the whole point of travel to experience all the differences.
