After a few more hours of sailing, we made it to Cat Ba Island. Sadly there are no cats on Cat Ba, but it's a small island that's mostly national park but has become hugely popular with tourists in recent years.
After checking into the hotel, one of the German couples and I headed motorbikes to go out and explore the island. I've never ridden a motorbike before so it was a really scary experience. Driving on the open roads was fine, but driving through streets with people and other traffic was PETRIFYING!
We rode out to a place called Hospital Cave which (just like the name suggests) is a giant cave that was used as a hospital during the war. They added concrete walls to make 2 stories with over 60 rooms. It was really impressive.
