My first experience on an overnight train! Headed to Sapa to meet up with a tour group for 3 days of trekking through rice paddies and sleeping in local homestays.

The tour company arranged my train tickets and sent a man on our motorbike to come get me my from my hotel. As seems to be normal in Vietnam, he was 45 minutes late and told me the exact opposite of what I needed to do to get the train tickets. A lovely tour operator for another company sorted me out though.

The other 3 people in my compartment are British with very strong accents so I was feeling like Harry Potter on the Hogwarts Express!
