The Port of Felixstowe is the UK’s largest container port, dealing with 48% of Britain’s containerised trade.
Harwich is one of the Haven ports on the North Sea coast. Traditionally, only the three deep-water of Ipswich, Harwich and Felixstowe, but now are the Ports of Felixstowe and Ipswich, Harwich International and Navyard and Mistley.
The LV18 was launched in 1958, and is one of the last manned lightships. It has hosted revival pirate radio broadcasts off the coast of Essex since the late 1990s.
The Sevenstones Lightvessel normally marks the Sevenstones rocks, a dangerous reef to the northeast of the Isles of Scilly. Not sure why it’s here?
A ship’s mast stands on the site of the Royal Navy shore establishment HMS Ganges, which was closed in 1976. It was used for climbing practice. On ceremonial occasions a team of boys would stand on various parts; the one who stood at the top on the ‘truck’ was known as the button boy.

The Royal Hospital School was founded in 1712 as part of the Greenwich Hospital, and moved to Suffolk in 1933. Historically nicknamed the Cradle of the Navy, it is now a co-educational fee charging boarding and day school with naval traditions.
